It's a Spring Thing: Boho Chic
My sunglasses are now a must when leaving the house, my hand is eagerly reaching for my strappy shoes instead of cosy boots and I’m even starting to dare to leave off my thicker knits. Spring is about to spring. Whilst we begin to daydream about the nearing summer months of barbecues, beers and beach trips, we bear in mind that we have to survive the spring transition first.
I love spring. Everything comes to life. The trees beaten by winter bare new leaves and the sun starts to risk staying up a little later. My wardrobe, however, struggles with the spring of fashion. It’s not quite warm enough for this and it’s not quite cold enough for that and really I should stop wearing so much black now. Dressing for spring can be difficult, catch my Seaside Boutique suggestion below.
The maxi dress. A relaxed, boho style that claims summer. But why don’t we start dressing it for spring? The likes of Chloe and Oscar de la Renta have advocated longer skirts on the runway and it’s great to be seeing them off too. This gorgeous style hints romance and fun whilst being so versatile to style formally or for the day. At Seaside Boutique we have several options for this wardrobe must have.
Our Island Breeze Spaghetti Strap and Maui Floral maxi dresses are wonderful to style for spring. Both come in black with just a hint of other colour bringing a spring feel to the darker winter colour. These dresses are great for this time of year when you can still wear a leather of suede jacket over them to add a layer or even a thin boyfriend knit in block colour, maybe a white or pink. You could don your chunky boots with this look or dress it up with some wedges or a platform heel.
The Chain Link and Ethnic Print maxis are perfect as we meet the warmer weather. Like the Breeze and Maui they look great dressed down with a heavier jacket but will take you right into those warm summer nights. These effortless dresses could be worn during the day but I think they’re perfect for evening events with a striking heel or wedge and laidback hair. Don’t forget a bold lip to compliment the mesh of colours.
The maxi dress is a perfect wardrobe staple as we spring into spring. You can dance in it right through to summer and style it however you fancy. This is a dress that you twirl through the seasons in from day to night.
